Creating a Healthy Environment

Written by Mathew Naismith

After watching a documentary called One Strange Rock, narrated by Will Smith, the realisation we are one with the Earth is slowly coming to fruition. Of course to go on from this is to realise we are one with the universe, not just the Earth, solar system or galaxy. What we are simply talking about here is in relation to our material self, the immaterial self is thought or known to go way beyond any universe or material being.

We now realise the material part of humans is simply a by-product of Earth. Of course this also means that humans and the Earth itself is a by-product of the universe. Humans are simply a by-product of the present environment, like any living entity is in accordance with their present environment. What we create materially, we become materially.

I found that the documentary wasn't altogether honest. Avoiding the degradation of man's influence upon the Earths natural environment was too evident. Also, stating how big our brains are, therefore depicting our intelligence in comparison to all other living entities, even in the universe as a whole, is also dishonest. No other living entity purposely destroys the very same environment that created it. How humans presently measure intelligence is quite amusing.

However, in our present environment, which we have created, any consciousness that is honest to a great degree will be scorned and/or ignored. This documentary wasn't altogether honest but it wasn't altogether dishonest either. Honesty was evident without being too honest within the present created environment of dishonesty. There are other astronauts, such as Edgar Mitchell, who realised and tried to comprehend and understand the existence of our material and immaterial world/environment without separating one from the other. A created dishonest consciousness will only accept honesty to a degree. Considering that a dishonest consciousness environment is of dishonesty, any honest consciousness will seem foreign to it and even seen as a threat to this created environment of dishonesty. How many spiritually aware people see other people's environment threatening to their own environment? It's the dame thing.

It is the same thing because all the environments humans can create come from the same source. Once you realise that any environment we create comes from the same source, the threat of other environments becomes neutralised and nullified. It just is what it is.

So does this mean we should just accept it is what it is?

If you are unable to influence an environment, accept by force or by deceit, yes, accept it is what it is, to do otherwise is to be of the environment you are trying to influence. However, this doesn't mean you can't live within your own created environment.

Is it deceitful, like the documentary mentioned here, to only be partially honest?

As I have proven to myself, to be anything but partially honest within a created environment of dishonesty, is only going to create one kind of reaction, a reaction totally forcefully against any other environment remotely threatening the existence of the present environment.

So why be more than partially honest within such an environment, seen as being partially honest is more influential upon such a dishonest created environment?

To me, being partially honest isn't changing a thing. In all honesty, humans have always been partially honest such as, there is a God or a source of creation of all things but it is depicted to be of man's image, a material representation instead of an immaterial representation. Of course many of us have now gotten to the stage of refuting the existence of our immaterial self's altogether, no matter what evidence their is to depict otherwise.

A true sense of honesty isn't a threat to a created dishonest environment, but it can seem that way to a crated dishonesty conscious environment. A true sense of honesty has always been present within human consciousness, no matter what environment human consciousness creates. This honesty is present within an awareness of all and the wisdom this kind of awareness creates. If this kind of environment was a threat to the present environment of dishonesty, this created environment of dishonesty, or of partial honesty, would have long ago been enveloped or totally eradicated an environment of dishonesty and partial honesty.

So why isn't this kind of honesty more influential upon an environment not of it's own?

A dishonest consciousness has the desire to be only of one environment or the other, be it of a material environment or an immaterial environment. Being of an environment of honesty, no matter what our desires may be, is of all environments, of material and immaterial environments. Why would such an environment desire to force change upon one environment on the other, while in favour of one environment over the other?

As depicted in the documentary, Earth is our home, not just the place we live on Earth. This is forgoing, in all honesty, that the universe is our home, materially, but so is our immaterial environment.

An honest environment isn't by force or trickery, but by choice.....

Improving Upon Our Weaknesses

Written by Mathew Naismith

I wrote the following to further explain where I was coming from in relation to my last post, Human Existence - A Balancing Act

"Indeed my friend, we are one despite our differences in culture and mind. Because I am not into what is good and bad, wrong and right, negative and positive, unlike the western mind in control, there are no negative or positive tags in relation to the western and eastern mind. As I will explain in my next post, both the western and eastern mind has a vital part to play in life for they are apart of life."

Also:

"Look at this way, the western mind most often desires to separate the physical/materiel world from the spiritual, only desiring to be of the spiritual or material world. The eastern mind doesn't do this as it is of oneness, a oneness that sees a connection between the material and spiritual world in the absence of separation and division.

The western spiritual mind often determines that the material world is unbecoming as the western mind is quite critical within its judgement. The eastern mind isn't critical within its judgement but simply observant of what can be improved. As it is stated, the western mind will build upon its strengths while the eastern mind improves upon its weaknesses. One creates balance, the other an imbalance!!"

In all honesty, how many western minded spiritual people do you know desire to separate the spiritual world from the material world? I really don't think being spiritual is to do with separating one from the other more, in truth quite the opposite. The sense of oneness to start with is the realisation that everything is connected and of one. Yes, it is difficult while becoming spiritually aware that the desire to feel more in harmony, secure and loving, is more desirable over and above anything else that doesn't fulfil these desires but we must avoid this occurring. The desire to dispel everything in some way that isn't of what we desire to feel is quite strong.

Let's be honest here, the western mind is going to have a far harder time of becoming spiritually aware than the eastern mind, this is why it is wise to get to know your eastern mind. The western mind is perfect for getting to know the material world as the tools created to do so by the western mind is unlimited, as the eastern mind is perfect for getting to know the spiritual world.

Yes, as of the eastern mind, the western mind has its place, problems only occur when the western mind takes over from the eastern mind in all of us. Considering that the western mind is of taking control, and the eastern mind is of releasing ourselves of control, it is by no mistake that a predominant western mind will take control of what the eastern mind controls. The funny thing is, the eastern mind never works by taking control but of releasing itself from control, within this action, the human self is released from its various limitations that control creates.

Control means to take power to direct or determine; to determine a result in accordance with the control expressed thus limiting all expressions to certain variables or values.

As the western mind will no doubt take offence to what I am stating here, the eastern mind won't, even when stating that the western mind is better at knowing about the material world than the eastern mind. The eastern mind simply sees this as something that needs to be worked on, not just something to express disdain towards unlike the western mind that is a lot easier to offend than the eastern mind. What is the western minds strength? Knowing about the material world. Where is the world at, at present in relation to the eastern and western mind? The world is obviously predominantly expressive of the western mind. What ability does the western mind focus on the most? Its strengths while even deliberately ignoring its weaknesses, at times at any cost!! A good example of this is the environment we are destroying, the very thing humans rely on for their existence. Yes, the Chinese are destroying their own environment as well, only because they are predominately expressive of  the western mind to compete in a western minded controlled world.

So what is a western dominated world focusing on the most? Its strengths, which is control, power, material wealth and global dominance, etc, also, anything and everything that doesn't pertain or is relevant to its strengths. This is why westernised spirituality, even when based on eastern spirituality, is often used to take more control and gain more power while in the material world. The western spiritual mind simply primarily focuses on the spiritual is in relation to taking more control, not what eastern spirituality is about, releasing ourselves from control.

“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” – Lao Tzu

“As spiritual searchers we need to become freer and freer of the attachment to our own smallness in which we get occupied with me-me-me. Pondering on large ideas or standing in front of things which remind us of a vast scale can free us from acquisitiveness and competitiveness and from our likes and dislikes. If we sit with an increasing stillness of the body, and attune our mind to the sky or to the ocean or to the myriad stars at night, or any other indicators of vastness, the mind gradually stills and the heart is filled with quiet joy. Also recalling our own experiences in which we acted generously or with compassion for the simple delight of it without expectation of any gain can give us more confidence in the existence of a deeper goodness from which we may deviate. Quelling Our Reactions, Our Motions.

Written by Mathew Naismith

Where most spiritual teachings, especially Eastern teachings, teach and guide us to express less motions through practices and awareness like meditation and oneness, we are expressing more motions and not just in the West.

I was thinking of winding back my interactions, my own motions, for a while, thinking that my readers and I need time out, my dreams stated otherwise last night. One dream seemed quite long on the subject of our excessive/extreme reactions. It is psychologically understandable that a consciousness that judges parts of humanity as negative and even toxic or demonic, will desire to feel better by any means. This includes means that express excessive/extreme motions in reaction.

Let's be honest, love and light and positive thinking is in counteraction, a reaction to what we perceive to be negative, toxic, demonic, etc. What would our reactions be if we didn't judge certain parts of humanity as being all these things? The odds are that we wouldn't be as expressive of excessiveness/extremes as we are now. What occurs when a white man judges a black man being negative in any sense to the white man? This kind of action usually creates a reaction of excessiveness/extremes. In all honesty, are not a lot of us doing the same by expressing a simular mentality towards a judged negative? This is exactly why I often state about staying away from the perceptions of negatives and positives as much as possible.

In truth, people like me compare the suns violence and destructiveness to man, we observe humanity comes nowhere near to the motions expressed by the sun. So if the sun isn't judged as being negative, toxic and demonic, etc, why are parts of humanity so critically judged in this way? In truth, our reactions wouldn't be as excessive/extreme as they are today, within this, we wouldn't judge humanity so critically. Humanity is what it is, neither perfect nor totally imperfect, just simply lost within its own creation in certain areas and circumstances. Yes, some of our programs, our isms and ideologies, are infected with the virus excessiveness/extremism as explained in my previous posts, however, we can rectify this.

The following interaction between Carolyn and me is on the topic materialism, how materialism is all about the feel good industry at the cost of humanity as a whole. I should state that when we become more aware, feeling good within ourselves and the feel of love and light comes naturally. Instead of materially/physically primarily focusing on love and light and positive thinking in excess and reaction, we spiritually focus on awareness and wisdom that naturally creates love and light and a positive/constructive reality. Imagine creating a more constructive reality that isn't based on excessive/extreme reactions, in other words on far less motions!! Let's be honest, the more motion we create, the more destructive we become, it's the natural law of motion/inertia.

Very interesting Mathew - as always. I wonder if a possible root of materialism is anything to do with Darwin's theory of 'survival of the fittest'. Could this subconsciously have been internalised and down the generations emerges in the form of acquiring as much as possible?

Reply
Good question Carolyn. Is it of natural law that the fittest will prevail over all else within a material world? I would have to say yes, I would be lying to myself if I said otherwise.

Is the natural law of spirituality also not of the survival of the fittest? In this case the survival of the most aware within a materialistic reality. In saying this, will the people solely of materialism prevail in the end?

Materialism seems to totally rely on how good we feel; of course how good we feel has become our primary objective, leaving awareness and wisdom way behind in being our primary objective. Awareness tells us to chastise (guide) our children for their own benefit in the long run. Feeling good tells us to not chastise our children for the sake of us feeling good within the present. Chastising children for their own good is also a negative it would seem these days!!

Indeed Carolyn, in a material/physical world, the laws of the survival of the fittest are absolute, however, what is truly defined as being the fittest? I don't think materialistic feel good isms and ideologies (programs) define the fittest in my mind. Yes, within the present but the energy they use is soon used up as awareness is virtually non-existent. We need awareness to wisely know how to use energy within a physical material existence, this is clearly not occurring.

As I have said in a previous post, we are a consciousness lost within its own creation, a creation based primarily on feeling good!!

I often find your queries quite compelling Carolyn, a sign of conscious maturity (awareness) in my mind. I often relate conscious maturity to conscious awareness; it's pleasant to see this within you.

Thank you Mathew! You are always inspiring!

Yes I agree in the survival of the most aware - perhaps the riches we seek are inner ones.
It is interesting what you say about children, as a primary school teacher I see more and more parents unwilling to guide their children, even young ones - it is as if nothing much matters - I notice the 'it doesn't matter' mentality all around these days.

Maybe if we could all sit with our own feelings in moments of stillness we could get to know ourselves better and begin to form healthy relationships with the environment and each other, and ourselves? Just mulling! :)

A very good example why I saver our friendship. Good one Carolyn, well explained as always.
