A Better Way of Living

Written by Mathew Naismith

- I was left with a fully dislocated elbow since I was six years old, I am now 51, whoops 52, years old and I don't take pain killers. I have also, through my life, taken on jobs that able people thought too hard to do.

- My mother recently passed away under dubious circumstances, this hit me quite hard, no one deserves to be abused in my mind, even the abusers. This didn't hit me as hard as it could have because I feel and know that my mother is living more of a life than ever.

The point is, because of my beliefs and faiths, life wasn't as hard as it could have been.

Think on this, if I labelled and measured every point and circumstance in my life, could I have accomplished the outlook I have today? Absolutely not as each label and measurement of our lives only creates and further adds to misery, in actuality, what misery. If I was to measure what level of misery I went through, would I still have the outlook I have today? The answer to this question is obvious.

In all, it's wise to desist in using labels, scales and levels as much as possible, in my mind anyway.

The Answer is Awareness and Balance, Not Love and Light!!

Written by Mathew Naismith

Before we get into this, I should point out that I figure myself of being of the light as well in a sense, basically, a person who is aware as opposed to a person who obviously isn't aware. There are numerous obvious differences between being aware and unaware, this isn't judgment because one is neither more worthy than another. Being aware is of the light, being unaware is of the dark, a consciousness that is unable or unwilling to perceive beyond a certain point.

Why is awareness and balance the answer to our chaotic existence and love and light are not? I recently gave a reply to a person who basically queried why the love in the world is not changing the world, the reply is as follow.

"My wife and I haven't watched TV for over eight years now, I do however miss the docs. TV was too one sided, there is no balance in the media these days, only in balance will we be at peace again. You can spread as much love in the world you like, if there is no balance within this love, love just won't work. It is obvious love isn't working, the world is getting worse.

Why does it seem that the darkness is swallowing up the light in the world? I was talking to a bloke in Sweden recently, his town was once of light, it's now turning dark. People from around the world are looking for the light, however, because they know no other way to exist, they swallow up the light instead of becoming the light.

The reason for this is simple, ignorance is not aware of how to become the light so it turns light into darkness where ever it goes. You can send out as much loving vibration you like out there, anyone in darkness is unable to receive it and in actuality, they often counter-react this light with darkness. Because they are unable to comprehend light, it's seen as a threat to them, this is quite understandable, try comprehending something that is virtually impossible to comprehend yourself!!

The answer is awareness and balance, not a one sided affair like love/light for instance, this scares the hell out of anyone who is conditioned to the dark and quite understandably so."

Light = awareness

Dark = unawareness (ignorance)

Love is ambiguous, it can be of pain, the dark and destructive as well and the light can be blinding to others not used to the light, the same can't be said of awareness and balance even though awareness denotes light.

Awareness on the other hand in conjunction with balance, is not blinding being that awareness is light, however, awareness on it's own is blinding to the unaware because again awareness is light. Balance basically takes away the glare from the light by defusing the light through being aware that the light, to the unaware, can be blinding and even frightening to them. It's wise to consider how unaware people will react to blinding light and a love they are unfamiliar with. Just because the aware are used to the light and love, doesn't mean that everyone is used to the light and love, in actuality, to the unaware, light and love can be very frightening, the last thing we need to do is generate even more fear in the unaware.

Balance gives awareness an awareness that a more balanced approach is needed. Awareness makes one aware of when a more balanced approach is needed, they certainly go hand in hand in a reality that is not all of light. Love and light work fine in a reality of light but it's obvious we are not in a reality of love and light.

The unaware are indeed attracted to the light but instead of taking on this light, they inadvertently destroy the light, how can any consciousness take on what it doesn't comprehend in the first place? How could we of the light expect them to?

Consider this, how many people of the light react to the dark with light? As soon as darkness appears in their life, they immediately react by counter-acting to this darkness with an intense light? Why? Fear of being of the dark, a darkness that threatens their light, now consider how people conditioned to the dark would react to the light, would they not also react with an intense darkness? Human consciousness as a whole is conditioned to the dark, this is all this consciousness, bar a few conscious souls, know. There is no balance within the light we are trying to influence human consciousness with, basically, we need to change the way we present ourselves if we truly want to make a difference.

It is said if a few of us live by the light, this light will eventually engulf human consciousness as a whole, in actuality,  the opposite is actually occurring because this light is way too much for a lot of people to comprehend and take on in such a reality. I have always advocated balance and that balance is the key.

Balance isn't just the key to a more harmonious existence, it's a key to many more doors than just harmony, a truer sense of love comes to mind and an awareness beyond most people's comprehension within this reality. Balance is basically made up of wisdom and awareness, awareness gives the awareness of balance and wisdom gives balance it's balance.

For only can the wise be truly balanced and for a very good reason too.

Balance also gives us a comprehension of a conscious state void of labels, however, because we exist within a reality primarily created by labels, labels are a necessity within such a reality, this doesn't mean we should primarily be of these created labels though. We have lost our balance and because of this, we have primarily become these created labels when in actuality we are this balance itself. Sure, these  labels are of us as well, we after all created them, but they are not who we are but of what we are at any given time, there is a difference. We are a consciousness primarily void of labels, this is who we are but we can become of what we have created at any given time. We have created these labels, this is what we have become, this doesn't mean this is who we are by no means.

Yes, love and light, dark and unawareness are but labels, labels that we have taken on as who we are when all the time who we truly are is simply of this balance void of any labels. Basically, a consciousness void of ego....Why be of the light when there is no darkness, this is a pure state of balance. Chasing the light also brings on the darkness!!

One more thing to consider, how is an unaware and a probable egotistical consciousness going to react to another consciousness that puts itself above another lower form of consciousness? "I am of a higher consciousness or vibration". I think the rebuttal to this high mindedness is going to create the response this kind of high mindedness deserves. The truth is, we are this balance void of egoistic labels, I know this isn't very glamorous but this is who we truly are in my mind.....

Moving Away from Our Created Divisions

Written by Mathew Naismith

When you divide anything, it becomes separate to the whole, a pie is a good example of this, now perceive the collective whole consciousness as a pie, the more it's separated, the more pieces we have. Every time we divide this pie, the smaller the pieces become, consciousness is the same. Now consider the content of each piece as we divide it, it too becomes smaller, now liken this content of the piece of pie to the amount of consciousness awareness. If we keep dividing consciousness itself up, this consciousness awareness becomes less and less due to the less content within each piece of consciousness. Human consciousness and it's perceptions is but one tiny piece of the pie.

Now how divided is this human consciousness? How many different ideologies, concepts, countries and classes of people do we have to name a few? Now how perceptive are these consciousnesses going to be on their own when they are divided from the whole human collective consciousness? Now consider how divided these divided human consciousnesses are compared to the whole collective consciousness? We couldn't be more divided and the more we label, the more divided we become from the collective consciousness, the whole pie. In actuality, in a whole collective consciousness point of view, labels don't exist, they can't for the main reason, their is no pieces of the pie to label, only one whole pie..... You can't even label this whole pie as a collective consciousness within a whole consciousness, we can only label this whole consciousness within a divided consciousness.

Appreciations of Labels: While I was talking to my wife about this topic this morning, I noticed a women's photo in the paper, I was instantly attracted, "what a dish". I then instantly realised how I was attracted to a labelled opposite to myself, I however didn't label my reaction to being one thing or another, it wasn't a negative or a positive reaction, it was just a reaction to a labelled opposite to myself. I then appreciated the appreciation  my labelling gave me, I actually appreciated being able to express more of consciousness even when it's divided, however, by further labelling our own labelling as being negative or positive in any sense, divides this pie up even more to the extent of becoming opposing opposites instead of just labelled opposites.

Opposites do not instantly mean opposing, it means we have a chance to express consciousness in every sense, of course labelling by opposing opposites also allow us to further more express, therefore experience, consciousness even more, this is when these divisions become noticeably destructive however.

I appreciate my labelling but at the same time try to avoid labels that are opposing.....

Opposing Divisions: Recently, I had lunch with some old work colleagues, one of my past work colleagues asked me if I was going to catch up with them next week, I said, "I will try", they then stated that try is a negative. The point is, is not stating or labelling a negative a negative to begin with? Within an undivided consciousness, there are no actual negatives as the perception of negatives denote an opposing division, there are no divisions within an undivided consciousness so negatives just don't exist within an undivided consciousness but they do within a divided consciousness.

Once we label (judge) what is negative, we do this through opposing divisions as opposed to a positive, meaning, once we label, we divide negative and positive as opposing, this is different to labelling a noticeable division between two opposites where there is no judged negative or positive. Opposing divisions will always give us negatives and positives, negatives and positives just don't exist within an undivided consciousness due to the fact that there is no conscious opposition to itself. When positives or negatives have no opposing opposites, what then makes a positive and a negative? However, opposites, without being opposing, exist within an undivided consciousness as there are no labels, it's these labels that give us opposing perceptions and perspectives, divisions.

Undivided Opposites: Now we might think an undivided consciousness doesn't have opposites within itself as it's undivided. Let's look at a pie here, is there not an outer and inner layer of the pie while the pie is still whole? Is there not an outer and inner layer of all consciousness? There are always opposites in everything without being opposing, opposing is only relevant and existing within a divided consciousness. Opposites do not automatically mean a division, yes, within a consciousness that divides there is but not in an undivided consciousness.

We have indeed created these divisions that have created a reality divided upon itself. The pie is perceived to be no longer whole, in actuality, the pie just doesn't exist for us any more even when all the content of the pie is still being experienced and expressed by us. It's strange experiencing a consciousness that no longer sees itself as part of the pie, consciousness itself as a whole. Human consciousness has divided itself so much that it can no longer see it's still the pie, consciousness as a whole. We don't have to stop in labelling opposites to realise we are the pie, just stop labelling opposing opposites, within this, labels will no longer play a major part in our existence as they do at present.

We too often think opposites has to be in opposition when the truth is very different, but only in an undivided consciousness is this different. The truth can only be found when consciousness is no longer perceived as being divided, the pie is whole no matter how divided it seems, there are no true opposing opposites, only opposites, the outer and inner layer of the pie but as a whole with no divisions!!

Going Beyond The Limits Of Labels

Written by Mathew Naismith

There are people among us, who are quite unnoticeable, who are aware far beyond the limits of normal human perception, however, they too live with and by the limitations of labels. This might sound a contradictory statement to make but it's not for the simple reason, these people don't become aware through labels, instead they use labels to balance out their awareness with unawareness.

Limitations of Labels: There is a huge difference between becoming aware through using labels and becoming aware void of labels altogether, as soon as we put a label on anything, we limit it to a certain perception, usually to perception of the label given. It's impossible to label anything without perceiving a certain perception, each label is given to a certain perception thus  limiting what has been labelled. It's like putting everything within a box and expecting it to be aware of all other perceptions out side the box, it's just not going to occur. A good example of this is the source of all creation, we label it as a God and/or a God of man which limits this consciousness in accordance to the perceptions of man and his given labels. Placing anything like this within a box labelled so and so, in this case God or God of man, limits our own ability to perceive beyond this box, when this occurs is we then create dogmatic ideologies, philosophies and doctrines limited by these labelled fixated perceptions and perspectives.

Becoming aware with as few as labels as possible, allows us to go beyond the limitations set down by labels, remembering, each label also carries with it certain perceptions attached thus limiting it to certain perceptions. This limitation of course limits our own awareness to within a box which is labelled in accordance to our perceptions which are limited to the labels given to each box. Once labels are attached, so are limitations!!

Now what about these people who are aware beyond the perceptions of labels, they have acquired awareness with very few labels if any but still live within and by labels.

To put a label on anything limits our perceptions thus limiting how aware we will become, these people didn't become aware through labels thus limiting themselves to certain perceptions, this then allowed them to become basically fully aware instead of just aware to the limitations of labels. To avoid a label being placed upon them, they live within and by labels but not upon themselves, basically, they have humbled themselves to a life of limitations but at the same time being aware beyond these limitations. Once you have obtained awareness through labels however, you will forever more label thus limiting your own awareness to boxes which we keep labelling, this is until you become aware of this.

Existing Without Labels: The reason to live within and by labels is all to with being truly aware, for if you are not aware of these limitations, you are not truly aware. It's liken to being aware of everything but not knowing how to become unaware, no truly aware consciousness isn't aware of knowing how to also exist within an ignorant/unaware consciousness, this also means being able to exist within and by a reality based on labels and subsequent limitations. Within such a reality, it's virtually impossible to express yourself without labels, however, while existing within this kind of  reality, we don't have to completely live by  these limitations set down by a reality based on labels.

Anyone who has acquired awareness through as little labels as possible, will find it easy to exist within and by a reality based on labels while being aware at the same time of perceptions way beyond these limitations. On the other hand, anyone who has acquired awareness through labels, will find it a lot harder to exist with a reality based on labels while becoming more aware. The reason for this is simple, they are trying to become aware while still fixated to labels which limit their awareness to certain perceptions. Within this, observing the big picture is virtually impossible thus limiting our observations to certain smaller pictures which are represented by our fixated perceptions.

Liken this to a jigsaw puzzle, each fixated perception represents a jigsaw piece of the whole puzzle, is it not easier looking at the big picture while placing these jigsaw pieces in place to not looking at the big picture at all? It's of course easier to look at the big picture, the whole puzzle, to place the jigsaw pieces. This is the same with ourselves while becoming aware of the bigger picture, in this case represented by the whole of consciousness itself. Human consciousness is but one piece of the whole jigsaw, the whole of consciousness itself. By labelling each piece we of the jigsaw, we perceive this to be the big picture when each labelled piece is a part of a much bigger picture.

A person who has acquired awareness virtually void of labels, observes the big picture while coexisting with each piece of the jigsaw, however,  a person who has acquired awareness through labelling, will find it a lot harder to coexist within each piece of the jigsaw as they are unable to observe therefore perceive the whole of the picture while placing the pieces of the jigsaw in it's rightful place.

Each piece of the jigsaw has it's rightful place within the big picture, we might then perceive that each piece is limited to that place it fits into within the big picture. This is the point, a person who has acquired awareness void of as many labels as possible, are also able to observe the big picture in it's completed un-fragmented state, within this perception, there are no pieces of the jigsaw, they just don't exist until we exist within each labelled piece of the jigsaw. Look at it like this, human consciousness is but one piece of the jigsaw but is a part of the bigger picture, the only time this piece is no longer a part of the big picture, is when we label it something different to the big picture. There is truly no separation, however, no consciousness can be truly aware until it's aware of the smaller pieces of the big picture either.

It's obvious why states of awareness and unawareness simultaneously exist, it's all a part of the same pictures being expressed. If a consciousness was only aware of being aware, it's not truly aware for it's ignorant to being unaware and visa-versa. This isn't a true form of awareness, if a consciousness is unable to express a state of unawareness, only awareness , it's truly not fully aware. Any true aware consciousness is able to express being aware and unaware, even simultaneously, in actuality, every kind of consciousness is doing just this, it's just they are unaware of this!!
